We recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Kelley Martin from the Tug Hill Artist Network on Stoney Shire – YouTube to talk all things Stoney Shire — and let’s just say, the conversation could’ve gone on for hours. Kelley was a true delight; insightful, connected, and full of passion for the arts and this region we call home.

Kelley launched the Tug Hill Artist Network as a way for artists, writers, musicians, potters, crafters, and creatives of all kinds to find each other, share resources, and grow the arts in the towns and villages across Tug Hill and the foothills of the Adirondacks. Her mission is simple but powerful: You are not alone in your artistic endeavors — let’s collaborate.

We’re grateful she took the time to write an incredible feature on our work here at Stoney Shire Inc. From our home base in Boonville to Porchfest, community toy drives, artisan markets, and long-term plans for a real-world creative community center, she captured the heart of what we’re building together.

Her article, Creating Community Through Arts: The Stoney Shire Journey,” highlights our efforts to turn passion into purpose — using old-world charm, community-minded events, and creative entrepreneurship to fuel a movement of makers, doers, and dreamers in the North Country.
